TE 6 Acupuncture Point

San Jiao 6, Triple Burner 6, or Triple Warmer 6, Abbreviated as TE 6 or TB 6, or SJ 6, Transliterated Zhigou in Chinese, Branch Ditch in English.

TE 6 Acupuncture Point Location:

On the dorsal aspect of the forearm, on the line connecting TE 4 and the tip of the elbow, 3 cun above the transverse crease of the wrist between the ulna and radius.

TE 6 Acupuncture Point Indications:

  • Constipation
  • Pain in the hypochondrium
  • Deafness, tinnitus

TE 6 is an important point to use for treating constipation. Jing-River points are where the qi of the meridian begins to flow more heavily. They are known to treat cough and asthma due to pathogenic cold or heat.
